Do You Accept Walk-in Appointments

Although our stylists are often booked in advance, we occasionally have last-minute openings for same-day appointments. Just give our front desk a call at 613-234-1000, and check if there’s a spot available on one of our stylist's schedules. 

Are you Currently Accepting New Clients?

Absolutely! We are always excited to welcome new clients to the Hair on Second Avenue family. While certain stylists may temporarily limit their availability for new guests, we have a team of talented stylists ready to provide you with exceptional service and genuine connections.

What is Your No-show / Late / Cancellation Policy?

To respect our stylists' time and ensure efficient scheduling, we have a 24-hour cancellation policy. Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment to avoid any cancellation fees (50% of the cancelled appointment). Your understanding and cooperation are greatly appreciated.

If you know you are going to be running behind to your appointment time, just do your best to give us a call. If you are more than 15 minutes late, we have the right to make adjustments or reschedule your existing appointment.

Do I need a consultation Prior to my appointment?

If you are looking to make a big change, book a specialty colour service, or would like to chat with a stylist in person, we highly recommend you book a complimentary consultation first to ensure you are booked for the correct timing, service, and accurate price quoted. We also require consultations prior to booking extension installs, colour corrections and bridal services due to the varied timing and pricing of these services.

How do I Book an Appointment?

To schedule an appointment at Hair on Second Avenue, all you have to do is send us an email. Or, if you prefer, you can always contact us by phone at 613-234-1000. We will do our best to accommodate your requests and find a suitable appointment time for you. For most colour services with new bookings, we will send you an additional questionnaire to fill out and return prior to confirming your appointment. Please allow 48 hours for our response. Please note that a credit card number is required to hold your appointment, especially for new clients of Hair on Second Avenue.

What if I want to book for my wedding?

Thank you for considering Hair on Second Avenue to be a part of your special day! The process to book our services for your wedding look like this: After your initial inquiry, if your requested date is available, we will require you to fill out and return a detailed sheet of services and information for each guest in your group. To secure your wedding date, a 50% deposit of the total group cost will be required at the time of booking. From there, we will book you in for a consultation to ensure you feel confident you’ll look your best on your wedding day. Start your inquiry here.

Do you have Wi-fi? What if I want to work during my appointment?

Hair on Second Avenue offers free WiFi for our guests, and we welcome you to use it to work on your laptop or other devices during your appointment.

What is your product return policy?

If your product or its packaging is defective, we will gladly exchange it for the same product within 14 days of purchase.

What if I'm unhappy with my hair services?

We stand behind all our services and guarantee your satisfaction. If you are not happy with your hair service within one week of the service being performed, please contact us to express your concerns. We will be more than happy to schedule a redo appointment with your original stylist to address and rectify any issues. Please note that redo appointments are intended to fix any concerns within the original colouring or style provided.

Where should I park?

Hair on Second Avenue does not have designated salon parking. However, there are several parking options available for your convenience. 

  • There is a four-story parking garage located west of the salon building. You’ll find it in google maps as City of Ottawa Parking Garage at 170 Second Avenue, with access from both Third Avenue and Second Avenue.

  • Levels 1 and 2 of the garage have a maximum parking limit of 2 hours, while levels 3 and 4 allow parking for as long as required. Payment for parking can be made at the meter in the garage or through the PAY BY PHONE app. 

  • Paid 2-hour street parking is directly in front of the salon, but please note that there are limited spots, and you can pay using the PAY BY PHONE app. Surrounding streets also offer 1-3 hour free parking options.
